Panelists:

Sharon Marcus is the Dean of Humanities, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Columbia University. She specializes in the literature of nineteenth-century England and France, with an emphasis on the novel, theater and performance, architecture and urbanism, and gender and sexuality. She is the author of several award-winning publications including Between Women: Friendship, Desire, and Marriage in Victorian England (Princeton: 2007). She is also a founder and Editor-in-Chief of Public Books , an online review of books, arts and ideas.

Brinda Bose teaches at the Centre for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She taught at Delhi University earlier and was a Fellow of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library from 2006 to 2009. She is co-founder of MargHumanities , an initiative that was started in 2011 for conversations about the state of the arts/humanities in higher education and research. Her areas of research and writing are the politics of gender/sexuality and culture in South Asia, modernist aesthetics and politics, and humanities studies. She has several publications and writes regularly for academic and popular journals as well as newspapers and blogs.

Pramath Raj Sinha is a founder and trustee of Ashoka University. He is also a Senior Advisor of Albright Stonebridge Group, India and the Founder and Managing Director of 9.9 Mediaworx Private Limited. Mr. Sinha recently launched the Vedica Scholars Programme, an alternative MBA focused on supporting the next generation of female leaders in business and society. He also helped set up and served as the Founding Dean of the Indian School of Business. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a Master of Science in Engineering and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
