ACLA Administrative Coordinator:

The American Comparative Literature Association, housed in the Dept. of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of South Carolina, invites applications for an administrative coordinator to provide support and leadership. The initial appointment ends June 30, 2016 with the possibility of a four year extension. Major responsibilities include planning the annual conference (over 2000 attendees), website development and maintenance, and supervision of staff and graduate students, and supporting the other activities of the ACLA. Under limited supervision by the Secretary-Treasurer of the ACLA, the responsibilities of the ALCA Administrative Coordinator also include handling membership and correspondence for the Secretary - Treasurer of the ACLA.    
 
Requirements: Knowledge of general accounting principles. Must be organized. Requires above average writing skills and experience with website publication. Experience using Wordpress (website design software) and Drupal. Must have experience creating/updating websites or sufficient working knowledge of websites and the internet to take over this function. Requires sound judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision. Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks as needed.  
 
A Master's degree and 1 year relevant experience in business, public administration or administrative services, or bachelor's degree and 3 years relevant experience in business, public administration or administrative services; or equivalency are required.   
Graduate work (including PhD) in Comparative Literature or other humanities field an asset, although not required.
