11 Online (short term) certification courses are being offered under NPTEL under disciplines such as Computer Science, Management studies, Humanities, Chemical Engineering, Physics and Mechanical Engineering. The attached brochure gives the list of courses being offered.
Enrollment for the courses is open to anyone at no cost. Lessons will be posted online through the week (20-25min module released everyday) followed up by assignments. A proctored exam will be conducted at the end of 2 months (for which a small fee is charged), which is a requirement for obtaining a certificate.
Who can register:
Anyone who is above 13 years of age can register using any email id that is a google account.
Procedure to register for the above courses are as follows:
1. Click on the link given above (or) copy the link in the web browser and press enter
2. You can listen to the brief introduction of the course by clicking on the video link
3. Scroll to the bottom and click the button "register"
4. For enrolling to the course, you can also use gmail/yahoo/hotmail id - anything. But you require a google account which can be created using any email id. If you google - how to create a google account - it gives a page for us to register our email id with google. Sample link - https://accounts.google.com/SignUp
5. On successful login, registration page opens and one shall fill up the particulars.
6. On successful completion, you will be enrolled for the course
