Sharon Marcus is the Dean of Humanities, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Columbia University. She specializes in the literature of nineteenth-century England and France, with an emphasis on the novel, theater and performance, architecture and urbanism, and gender and sexuality. She is the author of several award-winning publications including Between Women: Friendship, Desire, and Marriage in Victorian England (Princeton: 2007). She is also a founder and Editor-in-Chief of Public Books , an online review of books, arts and ideas. | | | Brinda Bose teaches at the Centre for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She taught at Delhi University earlier and was a Fellow of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library from 2006 to 2009. She is co-founder of MargHumanities , an initiative that was started in 2011 for conversations about the state of the arts/humanities in higher education and research. Her areas of research and writing are the politics of gender/sexuality and culture in South Asia, modernist aesthetics and politics, and humanities studies. He also helped set up and served as the Founding Dean of the Indian School of Business.
