The Government of India has set up a High Level Committee on the Status of Women (HLCSW) to review and assess the socio-economic, political and legal status of women and recommend appropriate policy interventions. The significance of the Committee is evident from the fact that it has been constituted about four decades after the First Committee (1971), which submitted its Report – Towards Equality in 1974.
The Committee is holding an all-India essay competition. Please find the detailed note of eligibility and guidelines enclosed herewith. The Committee shall appreciate if this note is circulated and given wide publicity in your institution and affiliated colleges for the entries and the essays received by the Committee by 20th Dec.
