EdelGive Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation and the Resource Alliance invite applications for the India NGO Awards 2014-15. The knowledge partner for the India NGO Awards 2014-15 is Grant Thornton.
The Awards, as you may be aware, were instituted in 2006 to recognise and honour those organisations that have demonstrated best practices in governance, financial management, creative resourcing and impact in the community.
Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) from across the country are encouraged to send in their entries under one of the three categories, based on their annual budget (income) for 2013-14.
Categories
- Small: Annual budget less than Rs 1 crore
- Medium: Annual budget between Rs 1 - 5 crores
- Large: Annual budget over Rs 5 crores
Criteria
Organisations will be evaluated on demonstration of good governance practices, transparency and accountability, the effective and sustainable mobilisation of resources, the demonstration of efficient management of resources and the impact of their work in bringing about tangible benefits to its target communities.
New Award Introduced
We have introduced new award this year called the Big Idea, Small Budget Award. Organisations which have introduced a successful new fundraising idea or a stream of revenue on a small budget in past 12-24 months can compete for this award..
Attractive Benefits· Future Leaders Programme 2015: All the 30 shortlisted organisations will be given an opportunity to compete for an exclusive 5 day residential course "Leadership Essentials" at Oxford University.
· The three national winners will receive a trophy and cash prize of Rs 4,00,000/- each to be used 'to strengthen their internal systems and processes',
· The Rising Star Award and Big Idea, Small Budget winners will receive a trophy and cash prize of Rs 2,50,000/- and Rs 1,00,000/- respectively.
· Workshops on resource mobilisation, communication, governance and financial management will be organised across the country.
· All finalists will be profiled in a casebook, which is widely disseminated.
· Finalists will be offered 2 days of (one to one) mentoring to strengthen their internal systems and processes.
· International Workshop on Resource Mobilisation (IWRM, Asia) 2015: Three applicants from small and medium category NGOs will be offered above bursarys.

We, the English Language Institute (ELI) of VIT University, Vellore, are immensely pleased to invite your wholehearted participation and presentation of papers in its upcoming two-day international conference entitled "English Language: Developing the Employability Skills of College Graduates" to be organized on 30-31, January, 2015.
The present conference aims at providing a platform for English language experts and teachers to deliberate and discuss the current status and the future scope of the language in the Indian and International context. Papers for presentation and publication can be sent to the email address, elicon2015@gmail.com, on or before 12, January, 2015. Individuals also need to register for the conference either online at http://elicon2015.questionpro.com or email, or by post. The papers can be more than, but should not be less than, 2500 words. Kindly complete the registration either online or offline before the aforementioned date to avoid last minute rush. Payment for the conference is to be made through Demand Draft or Internet Banking, the details for which can be found at the online registration link. Mere participants (NOT PAPER PRESENTERS) can pay the fee on the day of the conference at the registration desk. The conference is scheduled to happen at the VIT University campus at Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Papers selected for presentation and publication will be a property of ELI, VIT University, and cannot be published or presented anywhere else without prior written permission from ELI.

CALL FOR PAPERS 4th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF BENGAL STUDIES 12th – 13th December, 2015 Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Tokyo, Japan
Papers are invited for the 4th International Congress of Bengal Studies scheduled to be held on 12th–13th December, 2015. The 4th Congress will be hosted by Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Tokyo, Japan.
Papers on all the areas of Bengal Studies, including, but not limited to, Literature and Criticism, Comparative Literature, Linguistics, Folklore, Cultural Studies, Media Studies, History, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Development Studies, Ecology, Sociology, Anthropology, Philosophy, Fine Arts, Archaeology, Museology are invited. Papers should be written either in English or Bengali.
Last date for submission of abstract (800-1000 words) is 15th February 2015. Abstracts will be received only through email to icbs2015jp@gmail.com. An abstract is expected to give an outline of the primary material of study/survey; approach/methodology adopted; survey of works done by other scholars so far in the concerned area; and, finally, how the proposed paper adds to the existing knowledge. Those who will submit papers in Bengali should send abstracts both in Bengali and English. Abstract in English and/or in Bengali must be sent as a PDF document. Participants will be informed by April, 2015, about the decision of abstract review. Full paper should be sent to organizing committee by the end of October, 2015.
Participants must register by 31stJuly, 2015, by paying 70 US dollars (30 US dollars for students). Registration fee for life members would be 50 US dollars. Registration fee for Japanese participants would be 9,000 Japanese yen (4,000 Japanese yen for students). Registration will cover the right to attend all sessions, conference kit, abstract book, working lunch, and the proceedings of the ICBS conference. Participants are expected to make arrangement for their own travel and accommodation. Mode of payment, a list of hotels with contact details etc. will be communicated to confirmed participants.
The organizer may arrange for a limited number of grants for South Asian scholars covering the local hospitality (food and accommodation). Those who are interested in this grant must submit full papers by 30th June, 2015.
